Meridian Business Support are delighted to be working with one of the UKs largest independent 4x4 dealerships to recruit a Bodyshop Prepper in Chelmsford.
Our client has been established for over 50 years and offers in excess of 2000 premium vehicles for sale at their state-of-the-art multi-floor showroom.
Due to growth within the business, we are looking for an experienced prepper / paint technician / paint sprayer to join our clients expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Thoroughly washing and cleaning the vehicle to remove dirt, grease, and other contaminants
- Sanding the vehicle's surface to create a smooth base for painting, ensuring proper adhesion of the paint
- Masking off areas that do not require painting, including windows, trim, and lights, to protect them from overspray
- Applying body filler to dents, dings, and scratches, then sanding to create a smooth surface
- Inspecting the vehicle for additional damage or imperfections that need to be addressed before painting
- Ensuring all prep work meets quality standards before the vehicle proceeds to the painting stage
- Mixing paints to match the vehicle’s original color or to create a custom color as per the client's request
- Buffing and polishing the painted surface to achieve a smooth, high-gloss finish
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as bodyshop prepper / paint technician / paint sprayer (water based or solvent)
- Effective communicator
- Strong time management
- Attention to detail
