Meridian Business Support are recruiting for a Team Leader for one of our prestigious clients based in Meir Park. 
The Job Role: 
Working in the role as a Production Team Leader the candidate will lead the Manufacturing team to execute production planning on time, in full, at cost, with high quality to serve customer requirements. Continuously improve the manufacturing processes, in compliance with QHSE and corporate policies to achieve agreed performance objectives. 
The Production Team Leader is responsible for all shift activities related to a single multi-stage production line, including materials handling, foaming, cooling, cutting, packing, labelling and FLT handling.
The role is very much the centre of the operational arena and will liaise with Planning, Process Engineering, Warehouse, Supply Chain, HSE, Quality and Engineering.
As a Production Team Leader the candidate will ensure the availability of skills and resources to deliver production plans in line with business strategy and KPI’s.
The role predominantly requires a strong internal focus on the people, assets and process within the production area, including annual appraisals and cascade of objectives within the teams.
The Team Leader takes responsibility for approximately 12 people on shift, Shift patterns can always vary according to business needs. The critical aspect of the role is to ensure consistent delivery of all KPI’s across all shifts.
Technical knowledge/ expertise:
  • Practical working experience within a ‘Lean’ and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques culture
  • Experience in chemical industry working with ‘Bulk’ raw materials and batch planning
  • Fully conversant with principals of delivering KPI’s and production plan delivery, taking action and reacting to issues as they occur
  • Organised, confident and mature in approach.
  • Will be able to demonstrate impact on the business by pointing to improvements in performance and trends.
The working hours are: Weekends, Friday and Saturday Nights 10pm - 6am plus 2 Night shifts within the week. 
Which comes with a salary of £40000 per annum.
