New: Quality Manager vacancy with great prospects for long term career stability and growth
'Our award winning engineering business on the outskirts of Tewkesbury is growing. Following a large investment in buildings and facilities, we're now proud to be investing in more technologically advanced equipment and machinery. We're a small to medium sized precision engineering company making our own original equipment. We're on a journey of achieving great things and we're excited to be in a position to create a brand new Quality Manager role on a permanent basis to lead our growing Quality function.
Could you be our newest employee?
You won’t necessarily have heard of us because jobs don't come up here often. This only happens if one of our team retires or if we're growing, and this time we're growing. You probably won't have heard of our customers either because we make some highly specialist components for high-tech industry which generally go under the radar, but these products do go on to make life-changing differences for so many people all over the world.
We're a friendly team. We work hard and we're proud of the work we do. With the latest in metrology equipment, with clean, modern, and well organised premises plus good managerial support and all the tools and software we need, we get the job done to a high standard.
We’re now in a great position to take on a new Quality Manager to join our growing team to manage and coordinate all quality matters for CNC machined components. By joining us, you'll enjoy:
+ Developing and implementing Quality Management Systems for CNC machined component manufacturing
+ Leading and mentoring the small quality inspection team, fostering a culture of excellence
+ Conducting audits and inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards
+ Representing the company as subject matter expert during ISO external audits
+ Working closely with customers to overcome engineering quality challenges, developing new standards together
+ Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives
+ Coordinating the measurement of components produced by highly skilled engineers who are using a mix of brand new, state of the art CNC lathes, CNC mills and CNC grinding machines
+ Easy access to all the tooling and equipment you need to do your best work
+ Encouraging Director assistance and backing always available
+ Using a full suite of well maintained metrology tools and equipment from micrometers and gauges to CMMs to check the quality of precision engineered CNC machined components which will eventually be used in advanced technologies, making life changing differences for many people
+ Smart, modern, clean, well organised and well-equipped shop floor
+ Long term job security, working for a company creating our own original products for a range of specialist applications
+ Joining a growing, forward-looking company where regular and continuous investment in the future is an important part of what we do
What experience will you need as our new Quality Manager?
We're open to considering your application whether you're relatively early in your leadership level Quality career or if you've held a lead role for some time.
Either way, you’ll be an experienced Quality Lead, comfortable directing quality efforts in a CNC machining, precision engineering environment.
You'll have had exposure to handling non-conforming parts and producing non-conformance reports, working very closely and regularly meeting with customers to work through engineering challenges together.
As an experienced Quality Leader you’ll know this already, but to be clear, you’ll be confident in understanding complex engineering drawings and how a range of precision inspection equipment is capable to check dimensions of machined metal components to include gauges, micrometers, vernier calipers, microscopes, shadowgraphs, CMM and similar equipment.
You'll be an encouraging communicator with a gift for building positive relationships with colleagues, with direct reports and with customers too. You don't need to know how to program a CMM because we have people who do, but you will need to be able to use one confidently if needed. You will also be spending a good deal of time working closely with our Directors, taking ownership of Quality Management Systems, processes and documentation, carrying out non-conformance investigations and reporting, and working with our customers to overcome engineering challenges together.'
