We are recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager, a candidate who has experience managing the supply chain of a food production facility with a multiple product range and a prestigious product.

As part of this role you will be responsible for the following:  
  • Ensuring all goods in stores are receipted and stored in accordance with the company’s procedures taking effective corrective action where deviation occurs. 
  • Maintaining systems to continuously monitor and maintain 100% accurate stock availability within the different areas, communicating any issues or shortages to the Purchasing controller, Planning Controller and Production / Packing.
  • Effectively maintaining processes to ensure that required stock is prepared and issued in a timely manner (and before the planned manufacture / packing run) in accordance to the plan and/or changes communicated.
  • Maintaining effective planning systems to produce optimal weekly and monthly production plans based on capacity constraints and labour availability, reduction of waste and low dated stock by trending data.
  • Investigating stock shortages and shrinkage, implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Collaborate with production, packing and warehouse teams to establish efficient storage and movement of materials.
  • Maintaining systems for forward capacity plans ensuring all seasonal demand is met
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve supply chain issues to minimise risk and maximise efficiency.
  • Maintaining effective systems to control a weekly, monthly and annual stock check, investigating all variances.
  • Supporting purchasing controller strategically to negotiate purchasing costs and supply contracts to deliver yr. on yr. improvements in supplier performance on key metrics of quality, cost & delivery   
  • In liaison with the purchasing controller, conduct regular performance evaluations of suppliers to drive continuous improvement and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on supply chain performance to senior management and the Board as required.
 
You must be a strong user of Excel and have excellent organisational, computer and administrative skills with ability to multi-task and remain calm in a pressurised environment.  Any experience with the implantation of an ERP system is an advantage.
 
This role is based in Dorchester, is a permanent position as is working Monday – Friday 8.00 – 17.00.
