Meridian Business Support are delighted to be working with one of the UK’s leading independent accident repair groups to recruit for an Assistant Manager in Redruth.

Our client have 30+ sites throughout the UK and have partnered with most major insurance companies and vehicle manufacturers to ensure quality and care are at the forefront.

The role of an Assistant Manager is to control all the activities within the Bodyshop ensuring that all work is undertaken in a timely and correct manner thereby always ensuring customer care/satisfaction. To carry out estimates as specified by insurers/customers ensuring that the vehicle repair can be carried out efficiently.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Organise the Bodyshop job loading by controlling job start and finishing times and to be always aware of the status of each job, conducting daily progress meetings with Bodyshop staff and reporting unexpected delays to the Manager
  • Ensure that all jobs are being undertaken professionally and correctly and that final quality checks are undertaken in line with BS10125:2022 or any other applicable standard
  • Ensure all job cards are completed, and corrected correctly, and be ultimately responsible for shop floor discipline
  • Make sure all the Bodyshop tools and equipment are in good working order, control all waste materials, and power, and control the heating, having overall responsibility for the security of the building and the equipment within it
  • To prepare manual and computerised estimates efficiently and ensure that it conforms to the requirements laid down by the insurance company/customer so that customer care/satisfaction standards are always maintained
  • Order parts (if applicable) ensuring they are supplied correctly, in full and in time for the vehicle’s arrival, which may include returning parts that are incorrect or not required. You are also required (if applicable) to check whether parts received from the supplier, are genuine, non-genuine or second-hand for suitability, before labelling the parts and locating them for future traceability
  • To maintain a file of all estimates undertaken making sure that all work that is not automatically authorised is identified. Ensure that any such work does not commence until authorisation is gained, following up on any unauthorised estimates and reporting reasons
The successful candidate would preferably have 3 years experience in a similar role.

Pay and Benefits:

From £36,000 to £55,000 (OTE – includes site bonus and is dependable on experience and qualifications)

Hours are 8am – 5pm Monday – Friday, 30-minute lunch break.
