In today's evolving workplace, forward-thinking policies and practices are essential for supporting the wellbeing of all employees.
Meridian Business Support has been leading the charge by offering menopause awareness training to businesses, helping them understand both the legislation and the unique challenges faced by individuals going through menopause.
Understanding the obstacles associated with menopause and creating policies that support individuals can have a profound impact on employee retention, job satisfaction and performance. Menopause affects millions of individuals across the UK workforce, and as a recruitment leader, Meridian recognises the importance of creating environments where employees feel supported and understood.
Empowering Change: Navigating the Menopause and UK Legislation is run by Meridian's own licensed menopause champion, Erica Holland and Head of HR, Sarah Ward. It brought over 40 business leaders together to learn about the implications of menopause in the workplace and the importance of menopause-friendly policies.
Highlighting the importance of the initiative, Sarah Ward commented;
"Supporting employees through menopause isn't just a legal or moral obligation, it's a crucial element of a modern, inclusive workplace. By offering this training and sharing the journey Meridian has been on, we are empowering businesses to be better prepared and more understanding of the needs of their workforce."
As part of the series, participants also gained a CPD qualification to demonstrate they are equipped with the knowledge and tools to implement best practices in their organisation, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and fostering a culture of empathy and support.
Reflecting on the success of the events, Erica Holland commented;
"The response has been overwhelming, with all sessions booking up quickly. It is clear from conversations we have had with our partners that businesses are eager to support their employees, but many are still navigating how to do so effectively. These sessions offer essential guidance on not only understanding menopause but also the legal and ethical considerations that employers must address."
